Lot 67 is a family affair, a joint venture between Ben Jeveons and his father-in-law Peter Gerrard.
Stylish but by no means formal, Lot 67 is lively with uncluttered furnishings against a chocolate and biscuit colour scheme.
Opened just a year ago, it's proving to be a hit with the discerning people of Shenfield and surrounding areas, and Ben is now spreading the word further about the eatery with the intention of drawing food lovers from across mid-Essex.
The restaurant certainly has the pedigree to do so. Peter has set up other restaurants in Essex while Ben has worked for the Conran Group at The Great Eastern Hotel at Liverpool Street and Head Chef Anna Webb has previously worked with Jean-Christophe Novelli.
The cuisine is modern European.
The Lunch Menu offers a good variety of dishes without being overwhelming. Starters include: roasted Parma ham and Mozzarella, marinated chicken and bacon salad. The mains are equally appetising, including: seafood linguine, confit pork belly with apple mash and coq au vin with bubble and squeak.
The Evening Menu offers a similar selection of dishes with impressive items such as Sea Bass with olive and sun dried tomato mash, Seared Scallops with pea and mint risotto, and herb crusted lamb with buttered leaks.
Wine connoisseurs will enjoy their trip to Lot 67. There's a vast selection of reds, whites, rosés and Champagnes to choose from.
Lot 67 offers a stylish and inviting atmosphere in which to dine out and should be on your list of 'must places to visit' list.
